week 3 final reflections

It `s been a very productive week for me. I `ve done a lot of work for this course and I have also started attending another online course organized by  SEETA (South Eastern Teachers' Associations ) and the name of the course is "Adapting Your Coursebook With Technology". I applied for this course a few months ago and I was chosen to attend it , so right now I am very busy with my work and these two online courses that I am doing. If anyone is interested in learning more about our association , you can go to http://www.seeta.eu/. The course is  of a closed type, but I think you would learn a lot just by looking at their website and maybe you can get involved with some other activities they organize in the future.
Our first task was to create two questionnaires one for teachers and one for students using Tricider. You can look at my questionnaires at  http://tricider.com/admin/9s3U/MFvOS
and http://tricider.com/admin/9uVX/MLoFb
Please DO NOT vote or leave any comments as this would affect the course I am doing. I am giving you the links just as an idea of what you could do with your students and maybe to create your own  questionnaires and use them with your students.
It is so motivating when you are learning so much!

  1. Hi Dragana,
It SO NICE of you to share this new knowledge of SEETA!!! Thanks for being so generous and let me express my respect of all your hard and very fruitful work in both programs!! I have registered on this web as a guest and glanced at some pages for visitors. I envy you as you have one more very interesting community of educators. Did you have the chance to watch Daisy and Drago, a short cartoon which was created and dubbed by Ozge’s six year old students? It’s amazing how well the children’s voices are recorded! A good example for small children in teaching them pronunciation! and creativity, of course.

  2. Just to add to the above mentioned:
Tricider seems to be very handy and effective to use. May I copy the link and use it as well for some more questionnaires? I don’t know if I violate any program privacy in this case.

  3. Hi Dragana
I'm amazed at your skills to participate (and contribute) in two parallel online programs! Thanks for sharing the information about SEETA. I've looked at your questionnaires. in the past, I've used http://www.surveymonkey.com to create online questionnaires. But http://www.tricider.com is new to me and also seems to be a good choice! Thanks for sharing the good work you're doing!

  4. Hi Dragan,
I am really impressed by your creativity, making use of technology for maintaining teacher/learner opinion through questionnaires.

Making questionnaires is one of methods I use to know how my students are going well with my way of teaching. After the third of fourth lecture, I administer to my students a questionnaire of 5-10 items designed according to Likert-Scale . They are asked to report on their own opinions, anonymously, about the way I teach, materials used, time spent on practice, assignments given, their suggestions, marks they achieved, etc.

In the following lesson, I show the learners findings of the questionnaire with pie charts, cross tabulations and figures. This is a very effective way for responding to your learners needs, and most importantly, you will gain more confidence in the techniques you are using in teaching, and the learners feel that they are involved in teaching.

Two things teachers need to bear in mind when making such questionnaires for such purposes. Firstly, learners must be at an age that they can judge mindfully on how they can benefit from suggestions they provide the teacher with. Secondly, the teacher must also know how to readjust, in terms of time and scope of content to be covered, the suggested areas so that he/she does not wholly depend on his/her learners' suggestions.

    Best,
    Garri

  5. Hi Olena,Rashid and Garri,
Thank you for your kind words. I am either highly motivated or extremely dissatisfied with my knowledge and skills. I could not say which one is true.
Olena, I think you can use tricider without violating anything. It a free programme availble for anyone to use.I still haven`t seen Daisy and Drago, but I will, because I am sure it`s good.
Thank you Rashid, I will try http://www.surveymonkey.com and see maybe it works better for me.
Garri, thank you for sharing your idea on how to use questionnaires but you did not tell me how do you make them. Do you use some special software or program?
All the best to all three of you,
    Dragana
